Why choose hardwood?

Made from timber, hardwood is known for its timeless beauty and longevity. It’s a classic addition to any project, heightening quality and value over time and minimizing allergies, thanks to its easy-to-clean surface.

Types of Hardwood

Solid Hardwood

Made from single planks of solid wood, solid hardwood flooring is typically ¾-inch thick and is permanently nailed to the subfloor. It’s best suited above grade because of its nature to expand and contract, reacting to temperature and moisture. After years of wear, it can be sanded and refinished up to three times.

Engineered Hardwood

Made from layers of cross-oriented wood, including a hardwood veneer, engineered hardwood is a stable, eco-friendly and design-driven floor. Engineered hardwood is less likely to expand or contract, making installation over concrete or below grade possible. Depending on the thickness of the veneer, it can even be refinished.
